Love Me Dead

Over the last few months I've been rather bulimic in my approach to political/economic/environment news consumption: binge, then purge, do it again.  I want to be informed, then I get inflamed (again) about everything that's going on.  I can't stop listening.  Ultimately I find myself anxious and overwhelmed by how little I can do and how little other people in the world seem to care.  I get hives.   I can't sleep.   The news gets banned for a while.  In the midst of all this I haven't been playing or listening to a lot of music, which is a really ridiculous omission on my part.  Music feeds my soul, and I get quite grumpy when I don't spend enough time with it.

Happily, today I discovered that MTV now has a video archive on line that (supposedly) has almost every video they've ever aired.  Since MTV doesn't really play music videos any more, it was kind of like stumbling across a treasure chest while walking on the beach!  Tonight I took a much needed break from News Hell and watched old music videos I hadn't seen in more than 15 years.

Amid the nostalgic stuff I also found some more recent videos that I haven't seen due to canceling cable.  You might have heard of a band called
Ludo..."House" is currently using their newest single "Love Me Dead" as the theme song.  Kristopher took me to see Ludo on our first date, a two hour road trip to the Blue Note in Columbia, MO.  They were awesome, and since he loved their quirky humor so much I knew we were going to get along fabulously.  Ludo was eventually signed and now they're all over the place.  As one of the hardest-working bands in the midwest, they totally deserve it.  If you like this, check out "Girls on Trampolines"  and "Good Will Hunting By Myself" on their website.  Enjoy!
