Sunday soundtrack

The high-speed chase hasn't quite slowed down at work so I'm still slacking when it comes to the blog.  I found an unpublished entry from July that I thought one or two people might enjoy, so hey, it's a win/win!  Here goes:

Stout and Jake had an off-leash
Team Dog! training session today; they were in heaven, roaming around with their other well-trained buddies of many breeds.  Though it was hotter than Hades, swampy as you'd imagine anything on the banks of the mighty Mississippi to be, the dogs were still way excited to romp with their pals, sniff, roll in smelly things, and show their dogly competitive chops on the obstacle course and obedience contests.

For Stout, I think the soundtrack for the day would be a little something like
"Everybody Got Their Something" by Nikka Costa.  He is definitely a dog with his own style.  (Due to technical difficulties, you'll be linking to a YouTube of a live performance, rather than the studio recording.  It's still pretty darn fab.

For Jake it must have been a love song...he just basked in the presence of a 'Single White Female' about three times his size, who couldn't care less if he was alive.  I'm guessing the soundtrack for his day was something like "She Makes Me Feel Good" by Lyle Lovett.  Due to similar technical difficulties - and a dearth of the song/video online, you'll have to check it out on iTunes if you're that ambitious.

Now, since it's a rare lazy Saturday, I'm planning to enjoy a nap, a chocolate gelato, and a leisurely listen to My Other Side, one of St. Louis' hottest breakout bands in many years.

What would the soundtrack to your life be today?

All songs are intended for sampling purposes only; if you like the music, then support the artists by buying their music and going to their gigs. If any artist or their representatives want a link taken down, let me know through the Contact Me button.

I'm still really into Fred Friction's record. It's perfect for all occasions if you axe me. But to day was more of a Magazine day. I'm thinking of "The Correct Use of Soap". Killer record!
